Born in Perak, Malaysia, Dato' Dr. Najmil holds a PhD in Nanotechnology Manufacturing Engineering from Brunel University London, an MPhil in Nanotechnology Manufacturing Engineering from Leeds Metropolitan University, and an MSc in Political Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
